Privacy Policy
Basic Guidelines for Protection of Personal Information.

INAX is working to protect and collect personal information from customers and site visitors in the most appropriate way, in accordance with our basic guidelines for the protection of personal information.

1. Definition of Personal Information
  1. (1)"Personal information" is information that specifies and distinguishes an existing individual in the following ways:
    1. a) Name, address, birth date, sex, occupation, telephone number, e-mail, etc.
    2. b) Even if an individual cannot be distinguished from the information alone, it is "personal information" when this information can be compared to other information that allows individuals to be specified and distinguished.
  2. (2)"Personal information database" is a collection of information including personal information and is systematically constructed to allow for computer search on a specific individual.
  3. (3)"Personal data" is personal information that comprises the "personal information database."
  4. (4)"Retained personal data" is personal data under continuous usage exceeding six months, held under INAX’s right of management.
2. Management of Personal Data
  1. (1) INAX will undertake educational awareness programs for employees and temporary employees regarding personal information.
  2. (2) INAX will work towards securing the security of customers' personal information and preventing illegal access, leakage, loss, and damage to said information.
3. Acquisition of Personal Information
  1. (1) INAX will obtain personal information by appropriate and fair means.
  2. (2) INAX will disclose or inform the specific purpose of use as much as possible, when obtaining personal information. However, at times when the purpose of use is clear from the situation of the collection, INAX may obtain personal information without informing the purpose of its use.
4. Use of Personal Information
  1. (1)For sales of building materials and wares for residential facilities, as well as its subsequent after-service, as a principle, INAX will only use customers' personal information within the areas related to the following purposes of use. Furthermore, on the occasion that we establish purpose of use for surveys or other pages on the website, these "purpose of use" clauses will be included. We will use personal information for the following reasons:
    1. a) In order to send ordered items or prizes to the customer.
    2. b) In order to deliver announcements about INAX products, corporate activity, or events (including catalogs, guides, exhibition guides, and other printed materials).
    3. c) In order to confirm the date and time of a meeting with customers in the showroom.
    4. d) In order to make use of the opinions received from the customer in reference to our goods and services.
    5. e) In order to get in contact with the customer about product after service and maintenance.
    6. f ) In order to inform the customer about information regarding selecting building exterior building materials or other constructions project.
    7. g) In order to introduce INAX's business connection to a customer with the customer's approval.
    8. h) In order to provide better customer service or to confirm the content of questions/comments.
    9. i ) In order to otherwise handle the requests or consider opinions from customers.
  2. (2)When using customers' personal information, INAX will obtain consent from the customer beforehand to inform about the user and the purpose of use in the following cases:
    1. a) When the usage exceeds the areas of usage purpose written above.
    2. b) When those other than INAX (or its group companies) uses the information.
  3. (3)"Group companies" refers to the following firms:
    INAX Maintenance, INAX Engineering, INAX Bill Service, INAX General Service, Tounou INAX, Earthton, Kyushu INAX, PLUMSITE, Dinaone,
    HomeClip, INAXCOM, Mizu no Kyukyusha, etc.
  4. (4)Customer information will not be automatically provided to the group companies, but only provided when necessary and within the use of purpose laid out above.
  5. (5)When we receive contact, questions, or opinions from customers, there are cases where we record the conversation. We will use the recorded content in order to confirm the matter in discussion and provide better customer service.
5. Provision to Third Parties and Shared Use
  1. (1) INAX will not provide personal information to any third party or group company without advance consent of the individual except for the following circumstances. Furthermore, INAX will only provide this data when necessary and within the uses of purpose laid out below:
    1. a) When the information is in a state that does not allow for the distinguishing or specifying the customer as an individual.
    2. b) When providing individual information within the scope of the usage purpose for the group companies.
    3. c) When used in collaboration.
    4. d) When provided within the needs of trust of public occupation in order to achieve the usage purpose.
    5. e) When required to cooperate with the lawful activities of a government organization, local government entity or party designated by those for the execution of their affairs and obtaining the consent of the individual in question would interfere, or be likely to interfere, with the carrying out of such activities.
    6. f ) When required by laws and regulations.
  2. (2) INAX (including the group companies) will exchange contracts and agreements related to the secrecy protection with third-parties. We will work to protect and most appropriately collect customers' personal information as well as stop leakage, re-supplying to third parties, disclosure, and usage outside of the usage purpose.
6. Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, and Deletion of Personal Information
  1. (1) To request the disclosure, correction, suspension of use, or deletion (referred to as "disclosure, etc." below) of retained personal data, we ask that individuals contact INAX, based on the law (Act of May 30, 2003, Number 57) regarding the protection of customers' personal information. From the perspective of stopping leakage and protecting accuracy and safety, we will only disclose etc. the customers' retained personal information after a quick investigation (within the realms of possibility) to confirm that the person contacting INAX is the actual individual.
  2. (2) Regarding the enactment of the disclosure etc. listed in section (1), we will contact customers who have contacted us immediately. In the case that we do not carry out the requested action, we will work to explain the reasoning behind the decision.
7. Compliance with Related Laws and Regulations and Changes in the Policy
  1. INAX will comply faithfully with applicable Japanese laws and regulations regarding the collection of personal information.
8. Changes to the Basic Guidelines
  1. The contents of the basic guidelines will be reviewed and improved when necessary, therefore please refer to the latest published edition on the INAX website.
